I recently picked up this eagle plaque which is made from some type of hard but lightweight plastic. I looks like it was made from some kind mold of an actual wood carved eagle.
I can't quite make out the name on the bottom and I searched a bunch of variations of what I thought it could be but could not find the company or this particular eagle.
I think it says PLASTIK CORP. or PLASTEK CORP. 1976 I believe.
I know these plastic type of plaques are pretty common but mine is big @ approx 43" long and 18" tall. I don't remember ever seeing any this big.
It is broken on the eagles tail...a piece is missing but you really don't notice it.
    I paid $30 for it.
What do you think? Rarity, value etc?

P.S. I have plans to paint part of it and gold leaf the eagle...I just want to make sure I'm not destroying the value when I do especially if it's a one off or really rare.

If this should be in a different section feel free to move it. I wasn't sure where to post it.

We had one of these at an estate sale we did a 3 or 4 years ago. It was made of molded plastic and the same size as yours. If memory serves correctly, it didn't have any damage and was in the $45-55 range.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

It was manufactured during the year of the U.S. Bicentennial celebration, when a lot of patriotic items were made. Since it's broken and made of plastic material, it seems that the value would not be extremely high. I'd love to see what it looks like after you finish decorating it. Are you planning to sell it?

    Since it is plastic:
If you are keeping it for yourself - paint it.
If selling, leave in the condition it is in.

Are you sure it is plastic and not compressed sawdust resin?
