MEDICI PLATE WITE BLUE

Hello I wanted to know if the plate sells to anyone, does it have any value in the market. This is an ancient plate with an Arabic / Persian inscription I would love to have someone spot me or explain to me

The 'Medici' refers to the border pattern. This pattern was made by Mellor, Venables & Co operating between 1834 and 1851 based in Burslem (Stoke). The center came in different patterns, so it is likely yours was made on commission for an Arabic? speaking customer.

Yes, it would be in that time period, I think some are known with registration lozenges dating around the 1840's using the Medici pattern. The personalisation should increase the value, by how much is hard to say. What would really make a difference would be if you could find out who the plate was made for, if it were a for a Sultan or a Shah for example then that would help a lot with value.

If you can find a forum with Arabic speakers they may be able to translate it for you, perhaps an Islamic art forum or similar.
