  1. I am a long time collector of perfume bottles and the history of perfume bottles. I joined the IPBA (International Perfume Bottle Association when it started and have served as its archivist since 1992.

    Welcome. Were you on the old eBay boards? The name sounds familiar. You may have once identified a Russian bottle for me.

    @Helen Farnsworth - Hi & welcome to the forum!!! :happy::happy:

    I am acquainted with Helen as I am also a member of IPBA. :happy::happy:

    I am thrilled that she has chosen to join the forum as I know for a fact she is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge regarding perfume bottles among other things.

    Her specialty is commercial perfume bottles & her most favorite are anything produced by Richard Hudnut. She will definitely be a real asset to the forum as I have just basic knowledge of this type of bottle. So unless the bottle has some type of identifying marks, labels, or is a very distinctive shape I can not always help.
    Helen usually does not need any of those clues or aids & likely has the bottle somewhere in her ever-growing collection. :playful::playful: :D

    Over the years on both the eBay boards & here on the forum I have many times put different folks in contact with her because I knew 9 times out of 10 she would be able to give them answers to their questions as she is always happy to help someone out. :happy:

    So Helen how did you happen to stumble upon our little forum?

    @KikoBlueEyes - Thank you so much for the tag as I may not have ever seen this post :kiss::kiss: as I don't think to look here. :rolleyes::bag::bag::oops:

  12. No, I have never done this kind of activity before. Years of answering reference questions for the IPBA have been my main activity of this type.

  18. I need close up photos of the bottle you are asking about. I can not see any of the bottles in this photo. Also please add any details about the bottle-size and markings are most important.

    @Helen Farnsworth

    Folks here do not usually give monetary values on items & if they do they preface it by saying something like "here in the midwest" or something similar. We also might post a similar item's result on eBay for example. We are also not shy about saying that the price being asked is somewhat ambitious.

    You may have to look into the different sections of the forum to find posts asking about their bottles. They are mostly posted in the "antique discussion" as well as the "pottery, glass & porcelain" sections.

    You might get a tag or an alert in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. It will tell you what member tagged you (as I did in this post) & what thread they tagged you to for help.

    Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?
