Mahogany Bedroom Set Question

A few years ago i inherited a bedroom set from a friend. She was in her 90's when she passed. I have it in storage right now and am having to de-clutter and raise cash where I can. Is this just craigs list/face book material, or something better?

If I decide to keep it, is there anything I can do to lighten it up a bit without ruining it? They look darker indoors.

There is a dresser, a highboy, one bedside table, and a headboard (I have the rails and a low footboard, just not a picture of them.) The headboard does match - lighting makes it look darker. (sorry about the pictures - they were taken before putting in storage just to remind me what was there.)

They have a Mahogany Association label and a retailer's label for Hathaway's of New York.

Forgot to add - I understand that the number on the mahogany label - 225 - indicates Georgetown Gallery as the manufacturer. I have seen high prices on some of their furniture but don't know if it actually sells for those prices.

The trick may be in finding a buyer, where you are located, and getting it in the right place to sell!! Am tagging another member or two..... @verybrad, @blooey..... it would be a LOT of work to lighten it, or even paint it, so wait for others to chime in!!

 

40s-50s and just used furniture at this point. Value is in its utility. Would be difficult, if next to impossible, to lighten the finish any way but painting.
