I love stuff like this. I had a similar find that was just as exciting to discover. What a great thread. Way to go Debora.

As to "what to do with it"... I suppose your options are 1) keep and enjoy, 2) donate to an institution or 3) sell.

I would imagine that Cuevas' letters illustrated with human figures would be more valuable in general but addressee and content impact value as well. I didn't bother to decipher the entire thing but he mentions various international art exhibitions, gives his opinion of Picasso ("good painter") and asks about Goeritz' work on Ciudad Satélite, a project Cuevas was involved in too. He also mentions the Mexican painter Tamayo, with whom he was feuding.

Wow, in Mexico, this does have value!
Please let us know if you decide to look at the back of the letter.
Would it be fine to ask which auction you bought it from? I have some friends in Israel who also collect art.
If you consider donating it (it certainly does have historic value), I would suggest donating it to Metropolitan Museum - that's where they will receive more research attention. In Mexico, Cenidiap has archives of Goeritz, and the JL Cuevas Museum holds Cuevas's archives, among many others, but frankly saying the access to Mexican archives sometimes is very difficult, and the research outcome is not always the best.

it was from a place called kings gallery in Jerusalem - just found it by accident and i love illustrations ... they had a few very special pieces - mine “win” just seemed to have been over looked or under researched
