Featured male statue Congo?

    I bought this african wooden statue today. It was labeled Congo, beginning of 1900s. Height is about 35 cm. Strangely the bottom (last pic) is kind of rounded off, not flat, so it can't stand properly. Can't find any statue with a similar pose: hands to disk/bowl on head. More a female theme maybe?, but this one is definitely male :)
    Anyone any ideas about tribe/country, age and/or function?

    Early African art is...well....rare & expensive.......
    I'm not seeing either here.....
    More research needed..!

    maybe someone thought this was a Luba or Hemba stool....or divination bowl...

    Actually it does look a lot like many african stools (still upholding something, though not a roof :) ). However the 'seat' has a very small (too small?) diameter: about 9 cm

    Not very refined, that's for sure!

    yes, i had same thought, but top to small for seat. Maybe stand for devination bowl?
