    Hi All,
This is 2 1/2"L x 1 3/4"W, marked 925S on the back and weighs 12g. Are the stones garnets? Does this look to have some age or recent? Has a copper colour in places? Should I try and clean this?
    any information appreciated.
    thanks for looking

They look like rose cut garnets and I believe the 925S mark has had people confused for years.

The back bottom one looks like it may have been a coin?

Thank-you Holly. I've had pieces from Norway and Denmark with the 925S mark but they also had the maker mark so I wasn't sure with this piece.
Thank-you INH. Yes, it looks like marks in the photo but when you look at it in hand the surface is smooth.

Hi Aquitaine! I guess it kind of looks like a 3 but it is 'S', here is a similar one on a piece from Norway, but the maker mark is also there (I don't think the cross is from Norway, just used the photo as an example)

It is beautiful, cx. I agree, Norway and Denmark are the usual suspects for the mark. Denmark made more 925 silver jewellery.
The garnets are most likely Bohemian, ever since the early Middle Ages they were the main export product from Bohemia.
    Yes!:)
