Can someone tell me what I have here? It is heavy like stone, but has a company inscription on the back - kind of like the old Austin Products - that makes me think it may not be stone but something like chalkware, even though it is very heavy.
He has holes in his hands to hold something & is sitting back on his keister like he fell over - with that & the laughing - and that face! - maybe he's a drunk monk (or friar or whichever one used to make their own wine) instead of a laughing one?!
Can anyone make out the name on the back - that will help tell what it is for?
    I appreciate any help.

AWWWW, he's so cute!!!!! I LOVE his Jimmy Durante nose AND grin!!!!!

Well, you have the ©, 1880 or 1890 or 1980 or 1990, then I see "Accents", then MAYBE "tis", I haven't a clue on the next word, then I see "- In"..... however, "cute" doesn't really help you either!!!! Or could it be Gaelic????

Edit: Date COULD even be 1999....just not sure.....

Hi jm. Could it be Friar Tuck, the fabled monk of Robin Hood and his Merry Men? He was very fond of ale and was celebrated in the May Games in England and Scotland. He'd sway beautifully hanging from string. :joyful:

I've been looking for this item online for a while. My mom had one and it broke. Is this for sale?

    Welcome Julie,
As a new member you might not know the protocol for asking about purchasing. There are Wanted and Sale categories. You should not ask in this thread. The best thing to do is Start a Conversation with the member. :) That will be private.

    Welcome @JulieP .
I wasn't aware there was a protocol. Members sometimes ask if someone will be selling an item, and that someone will contact them in a private message.
