Final question from the estate lot. I'm assuming KJL is Kenneth Jay Lane, but not sure what to make of this pin. It is a heavy piece, seems well made, but missing one bead and has some odd wear to it. Thinking 1960's or later. I think the little tiny metal beads were painted at one time, but seem to have lost their paint.

Not even sure what I am asking -- has anyone seem KJL pieces like this? Is there a certain name for this style?

I've determined the age at least. When googling how he marked things came up with this:

    https://www.ebay.com/gds/How-to-Spot-Authentic-Kenneth-Jay-Lane-Jewelry-/10000000175954434/g.html

So the "K.J.L" stamp indicates 1960s if this site is correct.

Trifari, etc. has certain names for their collections at times. Just curious if this fell into any kind of pattern name, etc. The back seems so unusual with the design on the back of the piece. Almost like a nod to older pieces or something.

I am not certain of this, but the beads that 'may' have been painted, probably were. The wearing off MAY have been because the owner, when pinning it on, held it there. The gold has worn off of my lion doorknocker earrings as well.

    (Vive le KJL!)

Bronwen, you mean, "Brava, Wenna"! :joyful::kiss::singing::happy:

That white one is a dead ringer, too. Opened it on Pinterest, but the link didn't bring me to the auction.

Off to do some additional searching now! Thanks!

Oops! Sorry Wenna. I only saw that one eye looking at me & did not pay close attention to poster. I'm so accustomed to seeing comments on jewellery threads being by the other cyclops! :peeking::playful:

Might be a challenge...I think the correct spelling is 'Moghul'. But I am finding several misspellings in my search...eg: mogul, mughal, mughol...etc.

The eBay one is item # 222880382148

(I changed 'mogul' to 'mughal' & reran Wenna's search.)

And this one has the same back as Lucille.b's. Much nicer (and probably older) than the multi-color ones that I saw.

Thank you for that ID # Bronwen and Wenna, VERY helpful. The Pinterest link just brought me to Ebay's homepage (argh, Ebay, not helpful!) when I went to look myself, spelled Moghul wrong and didn't get anything.

I do think these solid colored ones are older and the multicolored a re-issue. Hopefully the older ones are more desirable.

A huge thank you to all.
