Their glass fronted. I can't tell if the pics are printed or painted behind the glass.

I think they are just pictures inserted in behind the glass. It's got a few people in my area scratching their heads.

I can visualize the chair perhaps in a lodge setting, such as a "Fishing / Angling Club'. Maybe crafted by one of the members?

    Hi James,
The acorn finial would lead me to think the chair is British. It also reminds me of a church chair and I also thought Scottish, but could be Welsh or English. I searched Scottish Church chair, Baronial Hall chair, Church Alter chair and found lots of styles but not a match to yours. Just to confuse things, to me the paintings look Dutch. There is a company in the UK that specialises in church furniture restoration which might help (www.antiquechurchfurniture.co.uk). I attach a few images from my search in case that inspires you and others in the Forum. Good luck.

Sorry, not a clue here but I'd say Cluttered has the best argument so far.

Those aren't ecclesiastical paintings, though. The images look like the Scottish Highlands.

One rather expects to see The Monarch of the Forest somewhere...

Shall I just try and find a furniture specialist and go from there?

I'll google some in my area.

Thank you everyone for all the help. I will come back and let you know what I find out.

I'd email the Glasgow Museum as a starter
