Hello, I found these pair of urns, height about 11"
I wonder if anyone could tell me the age and origin?
Do you think there shall be caps originally? Do you think the color and texture original or man made? Thanks!

    Hi,
They look wonderful. Could have been clock garnitures. Most likely from Italy.

Agreed, clock garnitures. There's a term for that marble type, I've forgotten it.

No it's not alabaster, it's that particular marble colouring. Bother.

This type of marble is breccia marble. Truly, a beautiful marble, which is found in nature in many colors. Google and you will see many types. With a BS in Geology and retired high school science, let me stop.
