Featured Elephant Bracelet Enamel & Gemstones What is it?

Hello, One more piece from the safe. I bought this in the 1980's at an antique auction. All paper records I had were destroyed by flooding during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. I have seen several on the internet..Mughal? Can anyone date the piece and perhaps give me a country of origin?

Judy, so sorry to hear you were in the region which Katrina devastated, I am glad you survived.
The bracelet is stunning. Made in India, probably in Jaipur in the state of Rajasthan.
Enameled silver, inlaid with rubies. Are the eyes glass?
These were worn in pairs, and were considered to protect the wearer.
It is not Mughal era, but later, my guesstimate is late 19th century.

Mughal is just one of those terms used to attract buyers. The style of your bracelet is native Indian, not Mughal. Mughal style is Indo-Persian, Indian or Pakistani with a distinct Persian influence.
The Islamic Mughal rulers allowed several Indian Hindu kings to settle in a separate region. This region was called the 'country of kings': Rajasthan. Because of the many courts it became a hub of Indian arts.
