What country has a pentagon with an animal head?

    Hi,
I have a pair of old silver cuff links I can not find the photos, have to retake but for years I thought they were unmarked. Today I see a very tiny pentagon punch which looks like it might be an animal head. Even with a 40X loupe it is so tiny I can not see if it a profile of a person or a deer. My book mark on the site 925 will not load. I am a little "antsy". May I have a nudge in the right direction?
    Thanks,
    greg

    Hi Messi,
I bought these years ago at a flea market in Paris. The seller did not even see the tiny punch. The punch is twice the size of a period but it is a definately a pentagon shape. I always thought they were Italian or Danish.
They have the most delicate twisted wire designs.

When you say pentagon, do you mean star? Possibly inside a somewhat rectangular shape?

That filigree work always makes me think 1950s 60s Italian.
Look and see what you think in the 1968 to present column.

    Hi,
    Thanks for all your help.
Pat not a star in a rectangle a true pentagon just like the Pentagon. It has the five equal sides. I really need a microscope. I just remembered I have small telescope. This is what I see. It loo 004.jpg ks like a roos 004.jpg ter facing right in a pentagon.

Try Switzerland, Greg. It's on the same page as Spain in the link above.

Hey, Guys! Greg, I think it's Yugoslavia's 900 mark for small articles.

I have a small ciggie case with the same mark.

I have a larger case as well, unmarked. They have many similar design elements. If the smaller one were not marked, I would have never known.

Greg isn't kidding, the mark is about the size he described.

    Hi Sue,
Thank you thank you. Messi and Pat and BakerS thank you for searching. Tardy must be one heck of a book. Yugoslavia at least dates it since they have to be since 1918. I was thinking/hoping about 1900. Why is it that old silver does not need polishing but new silver does? The Federal silver sugar tongs from Wishart has never been polished, these cuff links do not need polishing but the silver from 5 years ago tarnishes within a month. They are kept in the same display cabinet??????

You're welcome, Greg! There is very little about Yugoslavia in Tardy. Unless I am confused, the mark pre-dates 1933?

Both of those cases were black when I got them at different times. Lots of q-tips, Wright's and patience.

    Hi,
My Dad's cigarette case from the 30s has that type of elastic. Of course now there is absolutely no stretch to it. It does not even feel rubbery just like cloth. It just that Yugosalvia did not come into exsistance until after WWl. If the mark came in being in 1933 my cuffs are newer that I thought.

    No, PRE-1933. So between 1918-1933?
