Forums can be tricky. You don't have the benefit of a wink, smile, or sneer to help interpret how things are meant to be taken.
Many of us had this problem when we first joined a forum. I know I did.

That’s so true. It’s like a text message. When I read the comments again I realized that. I come in peace lol

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

It seems that you're trying hard to get back into our....my ...good graces.

    So here's a quick tale.

I screwed up recently with some family members...& have done everything I can to apologize...& ask for forgiveness......but to no avail.
Their response...or lack thereof ...has been to turn away from me.:(

So how can I, a sensitive man with a good soul....be any less charitable with you.:shame::shame::shame:

So Jory, here's what I'm offering.;)
Go to INTRODUCTIONS.....in the general discussion Forum....introduce yourself & tell us a bit about your antique interests....
& I'll be one of the first to Welcome you to our family ! :):):)

    & we'll start fresh......! :woot::woot:

I got hold of a NCR about 5-6 years ago, British version dated 1910, the cost was minimal.

It was jammed up and missing 9 screws.
The marble plate near the drawer had been replaced with a strip of aluminium.

Total cost of restoration was about £5, which included shipping of screws from the US.

Sold it on eBay to a guy who ran an old time barber shop in London.

    £750 ($984)

I agree and appreciate your gesture. Very wise words. I truly hope your family will come around and do the same.

This is one of the smaller more economical models, not one of the full size cash registers that I usually see at estate auctions. The cheapest NCR register I've seen was a smaller size register too, sold for $120 at auction due to being very plain and had condition issues. Yours is a little bit more intricate than that one I think. I've seen several full size registers sell in the $700-800 range at estate auction.

If the price is $300 I'd be hesitant to buy unless I found comparable sold listings on eBay for more. National Cash Register Co had hundreds of different models during their long history, some are rarer and more desirable to collectors than others. This isn't my area of collecting, so do your research instead of listening to people on the internet - if there is a model number on the machine that might help in your search.

Nice little machine. Would think $300.00 a fair price if buying for yourself. If looking to re-sell, you would want to research the market carefully. Not knowing the model number, I can't advise you further. In the world of cash registers, small can be good. The big ones can bring some good money but a small ornate one will sell faster.

I think the label MIGHT say 310 or 313. Can you read it?
I remember see somewhere the top piece saying “Amout Purchased” like on Davie’s is rare to find and adds value. Maybe you could find one separately if you did buy this. There should also be a model no. Attached to that oval on top. That’s pretty much all I can add.
