The print is 15 X 17 Mato- K--wapi might be the title

 

The subject is Mato Kuwapi, which means Chased by Bears in Dakota (related to Lakota).
Mato Kuwapi, 1843-1915, was a Santee Dakota who has become known in NA spirituality because of his statement on NA spirituality. I don't know if there is an authenticated photograph or portrait of him, but this print is a beautiful tribute to him.

 

I found this quote of Mato Kuwapi, regarding the pipe:

"Before talking of holy things, we prepare ourselves by offerings…one will fill 
his pipe and hand it to the other who will light it and offer it to the sky
