Precious Stone Handle on a Letter Opener

I’m aware this isn’t really Jewelery xD but I was hoping the depths of the Jewelry section of the forum might be where the knowledge I need is hid.

Dyou think the handle could Amber or coral or something like that? I have no idea about precious stones I just loved the look of the thing

 

It is probably carnelian and an acid etched blade.

 

So not the jackpot I was hoping for? Haha

Almost all of your comments have "xD" somewhere in the text. I have been racking my brain trying to figure what it means. Have tried saying it out loud.

Seriously, maybe we do need a 'written emoji' translator for the dinosaurs among us.

I only recently saw that possibility. Did look more like reclining buttocks. Think it's Boudicaa who uses it, no?

 

Dear CC49. Thank you SO MUCH for raising this! I too have been constantly puzzled by the xD and I'm still not sure why I see xD and not an emoji.

 

I vote for a dinosaur too! I can't handle the chicken face!

Knew she sprinkled it around, but it's also at the bottom of each post. In that context, it becomes clearer. My problem is that I often can't 'read' the emojis either & need the labels. Emoji prosopagnosia.

This forum doesn’t allow use of the emojis you can get on your phone. If you have an iPhone and go into general settings somewhere you can add an extra keyboard called emojis, that’s be your christening into the world of emojis.

Urban dictionary is always a laugh of you read anything on there in the context they offer as an example.
