    Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and was hoping someone could help me out. I inherited some Wedgwood china from my Grandmother and I can't tell if it is authentic and if so, how much it is worth. Any help would be awesome.

    Thanks,

i'd say look towards 1905 wild strawberry pattern........for starters...

It doesn't match any of the Wild Strawberry patterns, but that handpainted alphanumeric pattern number on the bottom is in a valid range. AMH5753 may be the only designation the pattern ever had. It's very nice, Tiffany.

And welcome to Antiquers! We're international so the UK crowd will be up soon and will not doubt be able to provide more info.

Different backstamp and a different pattern number on the bottom, but it sure does look like the same rim design. Not center painting, though.

I'm surprised the seller is calling that 1880's with "Made in England" in the stamp. But of course, I'm not really in my wheelhouse here.

Thank you sooo much! Does this mean they are authentic or replacements? Sorry, I'm so new to this.

Authentic. Nobody here is doubting they are Wedgwood.

The Replacements is a site that has amassed a large collection of glassware, China, silverware and more. They buy from department stores and individuals. They have authentic discontinued, and hard to find patterns. They are not replicas. They have a large database of patterns, so we use them to make an I.D. I assume it’s called Replacements because you can find a Replacement to a set you may have broken.
Sorry if this was confusing, and anyone can’t correct me as I am not that familiar, that’s just what it seems to me.

There was more than one Wedgwood company. The one most people think of is the one that did all the jasperware, but they did lots of other stuff besides. This is that best known Wedgwood.

I think I see, in your fist picture, crazing lines. Crazing is cracks in the glaze, but not in the body. For pieces like these, crazing does affect the value because it limits the utility of the pieces... makes them susceptible to staining.
