Help I/D hallmarks

My 2¢. You've got a decent mark on this piece which is a good place to start. You can look at this chart, if you don't have one already, that gives an idea of where in the world different silver content might be researched.

Most of the silver I buy, even if I love it, is with an eye toward melt value if it comes to that. Pieces that are very common, damaged or personalized I usually assume are just scrap value. It's worth checking out in case it's a famous person etc.

Anyway, with this particular piece, I'd figure it was probably scrap too.

 

Hello say it slowly thank you for your reply scrapping is something I have done for many years and it’s something I like doing and it’s good for some quick extra money and in the case of the tray I figured it wasn’t anything historic about it so scrapping was the thing I thought was best thing to do everyone has there own ideas about collecting vs scrapping but iam a scrapper and a collector so if the item isn’t something that I would collect than to the scrap pile it goes anyways thanks again say it slowly for the reply and the link. ...Matt
