Found an interesting Chinese Trousse Set (I think) today. It has a little area with writing that I would think was the original owners signature. Was hoping someone might be able to translate. Also, are the chopstick holder parts ray skin? Thanks for looking.

Nice set, it seems the chop sticks are bone, I don't know for the other parts:)

All Chinese names are three characters long. I'm only seeing two there, so I doubt it's a signature.

Rotate upside down your pic#1, first character is happiness FU, so the second one must be auspicious too:)
    Not a signature!

Thanks everyone. The little area with the writing is actually a separate piece set in, so I wonder what the purpose of it was.

I was surprised to find such an item in this area (NE Ohio).

Hi Kronos, It also amazes me how items such as this spread throughout the world. It's one of the things I find so fascinating about antiques and collecting. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the chopsticks could tell their story about how they reached you? :)
