Featured Globe ideal file

Apple can't seem to keep their iPhones from turning images on their sides randomly, when posting images.....just a PITA!!!!

 

The following site has more information on Globe-Wernicke which was the successor firm formed from the merger between the Globe Company of Cincinnati, OH and the Wernicke Company of Michigan. I can't seem to find much info on Globe Furniture alone although I've seen a few of their vertical filing cabinets at auction since I am located in Ohio. I've learned that if you see a stack bookcase or other Globe-Wernicke made product going for an affordable price that it is best to buy it since there is a lot of demand for the more unusual pieces and even partial components of the common stacking bookcases. They are incredibly useful for storage of small delicate items and so are in demand from collectors.

GW sells well for sure! Like you said even parts of bookcases or cabinets bring good money. Doors, tops, hardware, name badges, all of it. It’s all worth good money but again as you said the unique pieces really are valuable. The barrister cases with drawers are good and any uniquely configured cabinet. I don’t know why but I just adore everything GW made and anything that resembles their stuff by other companies. I guess I loved libraries as a kid and the furniture stuck with me. My home will be nothing but old wood file cabinets and barrister book cases by the time I’m done buying them.
