    Lousy photos, light was bad.

Another job lot, mostly modern and some Avon, a couple of nicer bits. Now, can anyone guess why I wanted particular one item in these? ;) Clue: it matches something. Said something was bought dirt cheap and is actually expensive to buy, even though it's relatively mass market. it's purely because I already have the matching Thing. ;)

The tigers eye earrings are nicer than they looked, silver. But they're not the Thing.

Had to chuckle at that, Avon stuff turns up in nearly every job lot of glass, ceramics, metal and jewellery, it's like an infestation :arghh:

Some is pretty good quality and some very collectible. I've sold it well.

I bought some sterling silver Avon rings from a gal who's mother use to sell Avon. She needed the money. They were actually very nice style.

I've never really looked at the jewellery, the glass and ceramics tend to be a dead loss. There's a vase they did that came with sweet's or something in the 70's that is constantly mis identified as Bohemian flashed glass, there seems to be one in nearly every rw auction.

I'm going to guess it's either the heart charm or the necklace with the ovals. But admittedly just a shot in the dark...

    Nope, neither of those. ;)

I'm keeping the necklace though, it's fun.

The dangly dream catcher style earrings? Didn’t you have a similar necklace? Or I’m getting muddled again.

    You get the prize!

I've a matching bracelet. It's Brooks and Bentley, bought for a pound at a car boot, boxed. They go for silly money on Ebay. I'd no idea you could get earrings. They're pierced, so I'll use converters.

It's almost impossible for me to sell anything but pierced earrings. No one here wants clips or screw backs no matter how pretty they are :(

I’m a bit late to the party but I’d have those blue gems out of that set too if it’s missing plate. Nice findings in the heart necklace underneath too.

I bought a lot recently that had a bunch of vintage Navajo earrings. The previous owner broke the posts off of every single earring and in the most messy/ugly way possible glued on clips. Of course it was an online estate auction where the kids took all the pictures and didn’t include photos of the backs of anything. So I had no idea they were all busted and gooped up. I was going to complain after I got home and looked through them but I gradually got distracted by other things and now a couple weeks have passed. I’ll probably still do ok on the lot but I’ll take a big hit on what I thought the earrings would be worth. :( You dang clippers!

edit: not to mention it covered the marks an just about all of them.

Hey, I'd never remove the posts on good earrings. ;) I use converters. I'll clip off posts on cheapo ones.

I've tried converting cheepo clips to pierced and it never works right :(

I once went to a rummage sale and thought I'd walked into Aladdin's Cave - a FULL rack of vintage clips. Until I pulled one pair down - some IDIOT had ripped off the original backs and hot-glued posts on. And did it to all of them. The ladies had them priced at $4/pair; I hated to tell them that with that severe damage they were only worth money to crafters, who'd pay $4 per dozen.

ARG! Big blingy clips still sell really well, too.
