I've been repairing and refinishing antiques since the late 70's. I have a client that brought me the best example of an unrestored camel back trunk I've encountered. I was hoping someone could help me identify the trunk and give my client some information as to its age, value and whether it should be restored or maintained. Appreciate your time and information!

Could/would you post a close-up photograph of the female figure, Noel?

    Hi,
Looks like they tore off all the canvas covering the wood. I doubt that it was stripped and refinished.

I wonder a bit at the quality of the wood; too many knotholes to keep the content dry on long journeys.
    the riveting is sub-optimal.

I have refinished a lot of old trunks. That either had canvas or leather that has been removed. Put a coat of finish on the wood and it will be beautiful.
