Yes it is rosequartz, a pretty necklace.
The earrings are carved and pierced soapstone from India. You probably know that kind of carving from Indian trinket boxes and animal figurines.

I think someone used an old sterling clasp on something they strung themselves.
    Pretty.

Hi, Cuz. The elements used in the necklace are all, including the clasp, things you could find today from beading supply sources. Rose quartz, freshwater pearls, looks like green aventurine & maybe hematite (are those beads metallic grey?) My first impression, based on design, was also that it was a home craftsperson, but looking at the knots & the way the ends are finished leaves me open to the possibility that it was commercially made, although probably still by hand. The earring stones I have to leave to AJ, but construction definitely looks amateur, as in I could have made them.

style of necklace looks art deco to me, 20s to 30s. clasp is in typical "navire" form.

The style of the clasp is Art Deco, but those are still being made.
The style of the necklace is 1970s, when a lot of these necklaces came out of China and were sold at craftshows, gemstone shows, etc.
This is the up-market version, with knotted beads and a silver clasp.

I was thinking early 80s, but whichever. Those freshwater "rice" pearls were the style popular at the time, and once upon a time were actually worth something. The green beads look like dyed aventurine. I buy these sometimes to rip apart since the stone beads are often better quality than what came later and cost far less than new ones that are lower grade.

And older stone beads are not as highly polished as those new ones. Much nicer, I think.

It's most often called a "fishhook" clasp, if you're American or a "pearl" clasp due to a) the internal hook and b) its original use on strands of pearls.

Probably not hemalyke; that's glass made to look like hematite (only it won't rust!) but it wasn't around when this was made. I don't think...?
