Help identify this woven bag?

    Hi, Does anyone know where this handbag might have originated from? Is it Native American? I found it in a box I bought at an auction, with other things. I have no idea if it is authentic or not. Thank you for any help.

    I'm no expert but it looks like Peruvian export/tourist stuff to me. Wait for others to chime in. Lovely colors!

    It is a bag from nomadic peoples in Western or Central Asia. I don't know the specific tribe for this one, but it is from a region where they also make carpets.
    When a bag has a real pile like this shaggy one, it is never Native American or Peruvian.

    Agree with AJ (as usual lol) and I’d guess Anatolian first or one of the “Stans”. It is not N. African.
