Old or something new.

Hello to everyone I have had this vessel for some time now and was hoping for any thoughts on its age I am a collector of Native American artifact and the clay used to make this guy looks very close to the Native American artifact pottery that I have ,the clay has a sparkle to it ,it sure looks old to me but I know how much fake stuff is out there I’m only sure of it’s age when I find it myself like all the other items I have anyways any thought would be great. I know a positive I/D from a picture is almost impossible but just looking for other opinions thanks ..Matt

It's interesting for sure. The decoration and detail look to me like they were quickly done which suggest a more recent quickly-produced piece intended for sale.

 

That reminds me of the Huastec-style figure some posted here before, but I think this vessel is quite probably newish.

 

It looks like someone's attempt to make a copy of a Peruvian (Moche, Chimu) "stirrup spout" vessel, but wrong clay and poorly made.

 

I think it's based on a Peruvian Whistling vessel............but that's just me !!
