Here's the info I had, I just purchased these in an online auction, do you think I guessed correctly?

They're from México. I would expect them to be silver.

That's what I noticed too. I've seen similar cordials before, I haven't really seen any that aren't silver (not saying there aren't plated ones, but they seem to be in silver). There were no other bidders on the auction because of the listing title.

I can read Hecho en Mexico. After that it gets iffy.

Half of them I see are alpaca, but the dent probably means they're softer than that

That spun look on the base usually means base metal. The color isn't quite right either.

Well obviously I hope you are wrong, but if you are right I will learn! I obviously think they look good, or else I wouldn't have taken the gamble (a $20 spin of the wheel). Here's a few similar styles that are definitely sterling, I don't see what you see in the tone, my bet is if they are real, the sterling stamp will be on the underside circle of the base. I promise to confess if I got it wrong, but it's fun trying to sniff stuff out. A couple similar examples:

My other theory on why I think they are real (of course I won't know until I get them). If someone was going to make base metal cordials, why not spend the extra 5 cents in copper/brass/tin and make them a little thicker. This to me is the best possible sign that they could be sterling, thin and cheap to keep the costs down, but *hopefully* still silver.

Being "spun" means little, would you say the same about Tiffany's sterling cordial glasses which are totally spun,as are most metal products of this type.
