Anybody out there familiar with glassworks made through the Werkstatte? Mark on piece is very close to theirs. Any opinions to whether it is or not will be greatly appreciated. From what I've read they pretty much made a lot of different things from furniture to fabrics. To me it looks like a cubist elephant. austria.jpg austria1.jpg austria2.jpg austria3.jpg austria4.jpg austria5.jpg austria6.jpg austria7.jpg austria9.jpg austria10.jpg

They did make glass at the WW, and you are right the items made were very varied although I'm not sure this fits with their usual aesthetic. Most problematic is the sticker, WW ceased in 1932 and that looks like a urethane sticker, ie post 1980 so it would have to have been added after for some reason.

I only see the leafy wallpaper and a lot of irisation from the stand it is on. Could you photograph it against a plain background please?
    I agree.

It was very confusing at first, now we can see the actual piece.

Mario, I was wondering why you thought it was Wiener Werkstätte. Am I right in thinking you thought the crisscross mark was the Wiener Werkstätte mark? It looks very different to me.

Wiener Werkstätte, which is two Ws in a square frame:
