My neighbor called me up yesterday and asked me if I wanted this table someone had given him about 5 years ago (it's been in his garage this whole time).

He said I could keep it or sell it "and keep the money" and I countered, "If I sell it, how about we use proceeds to have a pizza party??"

I'm thinking this is maybe circa 2000 plus or minus, more done in a 60's style. Just looks newer.

First question, it is stamped "EST" both on the base of the top and the metal top of the chrome section. Ring a bell for anyone?

The chrome is not perfect. It has sort of pitting (almost looks like water stains). Thinking this is not an easy fix...or?

Top is pretty good, not 100%, but over all good.

So wondering if anyone has an idea about the maker. Also any fix for the chrome? I think even in it's current state it would probably sell easily for $60-80, but finding the maker might be helpful.

The original "tulip" tables were designed by Eero Saarinen and made by Knoll, and they still make the officially-licensed versions. Many companies have made versions over the years. I don't know who used the "EST" marking. Yours reminds me of the ones Room and Board have been selling, which if so, are pretty good quality, made in USA versions. The pitted chrome is definitely an issue if looking to sell. You can try some chrome polish like Mother's, sold at auto parts shops. You typically have to polish 3-4 times to see improvement. It will help, but once it starts pitting there's not much you can do to revive it. You could always sand it down, prime, and spray paint in black or white. I think $60-80 is a reasonable expectation.

I have a chair from 1960 with the same "est 7223" markings on it. Mine looks like Cpt. Kirk sat in it. Heavy "burlap" fabric. Dark blue. Who made this???

Similar to an Adrian Pearsall design but think it a knock-off.

It is known that Pearsall did not put makings on some of his products

Got a slightly earlier date for EST. 1968 for furniture components.
