Cast Classical Urn (Iron?)

    Saw this today!

    Quite big as per regular urns. Heavy and in one piece no lid or nothin’.

    What do you think of it? Old or new?
    Would you call the finial a pine cone or artichoke?

    Took some photos but I cant get them to fit the limit I cropped one of the base into two halves so you can see it all

    Looks like a trophy missing the silver plate glued on the front showing the winners name. Not sure how old though. Some of the metal working experts may be able to give you an idea of age.

    I could be really wrong, but my first impression was patinated Chinese import.

    You may have scored big and found a piece of bronze. It certainly has copper content.

    I was reckoning bronze but either way I left it. It won’t go for a serious bargain and having the plate missing on the front would get on my wick xD

    The item had no lid it was one whole piece. Haven’t handled many urn if that’s the norm I don’t know xD

    Yeh could have been a ‘love you always’ plaque or something.

    Think you are on the money here. Likely brass and just as likely India as China.
