Pottery - Is this considered barbotine?

Hello everyone! I picked up this vase and another one of similar construction at auction recently. Nobody else seemed interested so I took a chance on them. Is there any way to tell how old these types of vases are or where they came from? One leaf is missing its tip but otherwise it appears okay. Thanks in advance. Don

Ok, according to Fid's site, barbotine is really French majolica?

 

problem is that in English they use barbotine for slipglaze (since ancient times) as well as a method where you build up adornments by half-dry slip and glue them to the main body.
in France barbotine as a technique that is nearer to drip glaze stuff where the engobe is much more fluid and sometimes already mixed with colors.
