Hey guys, I’m not sure what all y’all want to know about me. I’m a mental health therapist in Amarillo, TX. I’ve lived in the Panhandle most of my life. I recently bought a home and wanted colored glass for decoration. What I ended up with is a lot of Faberge crystal wine, shot, and flute glasses. This is way to fancy for me to be leaving around a lively house. I want to sell it but am not sure what to price it at and where to sell it... I’m thinking eBay. I am having trouble loading pictures. Anyway, I’m happy to be a part of this community. Any help is welcomed.
Welcome to the Forum, Levi! When you’re ready to post some things, here’s instructions for photos: https://www.antiquers.com/threads/making-a-post-and-uploading-pictures.16038/
Greetings, Levi! I assume that's your collection (or at least part of it) in your avatar. Pretty colors.
Hello, Bakersgma! Yes, the avatar pic is the Faberge collection I need to sell. Thank you! The colors are amazing in this collection.
Welcome........You'll need some good packing material if'n yer gonna be shippin these puppys far afield !!
The USPS plus crystal is a bad combination. If you do sell on line, learn how to pack glass so the mail-handling elephants, hippos, crocodiles, gorillas, and whatever else they're using can't smash them. Sometimes I'm told they hired ex soccer (football to non-Americans) players to boot boxes around.
Good luck with selling. Hopefully you get some buyers close by so you don't have to worry about packing and shipping
Have a look online for similar ones sold. That will give you an idea of price. I have inherited a lot of stuff from my Grandparents and do my research before I list. I also ask a lot of questions on this forum
Levi, don't be afraid to ship glass and china but do keep in mind that it is just a box to the postal service. Until recently I sold mostly glass, some expensive, and in all those sales only had 1 item broken (the postal truck ran over the box). Have a big enough box (2" extra on each side), tissue paper, lots of bubble wrap - big and small bubbles, lots of peanuts and packing paper. Most of these items are free if you are a good scrounger or ask family/friends to save them. If you want tips on packing, just ask here. Lots of people ship glass and china.
Buy them! I give you a great deal! Of course to get that deal I have to go skimpy on the packaging.. if you don’t mind me shipping it all to you in a big envelope.
