Featured A Sweet Little Ring - Any Idea What The Stone Is?

Hmmm - would guess a sapphire, but AJ already suggested that (I have a ring with small different color Montana sapphires, a couple 'bluish green')...

Some emeralds are a bit bluish, and they can certainly be very dark.

 

Before the ring was cleaned it was very dirty and dusty. The stone was a much lighter colour. I thought it was peridot but it's not.

I know nothing but I’m going with Tourmaline, it looks like it has those lines through it that make it look opaque from some direction and transparent from others.

 

Looks quite dark for a blue diamond but it still could be.

 

Looks like sapphire to me but assume it's actually something tricky.
