1528419244755-1236505158.jpg Just picked this up and I'm having trouble finding anything like it. Any help would be much appreciated. Only markings on it are the numbers 261 on the bottom.

    Welcome to the Forum, Jason!
The people who know about glassware and pottery will be along. They normally would like a picture of the underneath as it helps them. :)

Mine appears to be a little newer. I would like to get this appraised but anyone I talk to locally has never seen one like this.

I only have a limited knowledge of steins but your pictures make it tough to tell see some of the more important features. The top and handle are important in identifying the production time frame. I can't see them very clearly. They are blurry in both pictures and there's only a mirror reflection in the first. Is there a mark on the pewter? The base is bothering me. Why is there a hole in the bottom? Is it missing a metal fixture there? I would recommend figuring out how much it holds (usually measured in liters) and check sold ebay listings for anything similar. The other option is to take better pictures and see if there is a on-line group specifically for steins. It really is a unique collecting area and I'm not sure we have anybody that specializes in that area on this board.

I think it is too. The style is also unusual, in that it has less blue than usual in Westerwald. Maybe that is a clue as to the period or maker. Maybe made during a period that they couldn't get cobalt? A war perhaps?

    There is a Westerwald museum:
    https://www.keramikmuseum.de/home/
    You can email them:
    kontakt@keramikmuseum.de
I am sure someone there speaks English.
