More Folk Pottery

After successfully identifying the pots from yesterday as Romanian.Here are two more items that were in the same lot. The seller doesn't know if they all originated from the same place so, whilst Romania is again a possibility, it's not a certainty. Any thoughts? The bird is terracotta and the vase faience. The vase is 22cm tall. Sadly packed badly and the bird's head came off.

 

The vase or jug looks Spanish to me.

Spain is a possibility for jug (although something about glaze doesn't look quite right to my eye.) Toledo-way as before, I'd think. Puente del Arzobispo perhaps. Here's something not unsimilar from a Barcelona museum. Region not given.

Thanks very much Debora. It certainly has a very similar look to it.

 

The Fundación is closed but they might answer questions. Could be worth an email. Private so likely more responsive than public and they've 14,000 pieces of Spanish ceramics in their collection (according to this.)

This is from the book Maiolica Olé, Spanish and Mexican Decorative Traditions by Lister & Lister.

I'm not suggesting the age but the tree style is similar etc.

 

Thanks everyone I wrote to the Fondacion and will see what they say. Certainly looks Spanish style.

 

Modern Puente del Arzobispo piece but... Very similar tree design.
