Help identifying piece of Oak Furniture

Whilst cleaning out my grandmothers house after her passing, I found a very interesting piece of furniture and began to try and figure out what its function was as no one I had talked to had ever seen something quite so unique. I believe that it is suppose to be mounted to/hung on a wall and is completely oak (from my best knowledge). I proposed that it could hold umbrellas or canes since it has fairly large holes on the right side and pegs on the left, but others believe it could have been some sort of valet cabinet or used similarly because of the drawer at the bottom. I have searched for close to a week and haven't found anything similar to it so I'm beginning to believe it was a custom piece but I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas as to what it could be.

    Thanks for any help,
    Wil

The shape/design is very similar to a gun rack.

Could be a gun rack but not sure about the size and spacing of the pegs at left. Another option would be for fishing poles. The wood is pine.

Hung or attached, but meant to be readily removable, not a permanent fixture, although the holes where it went would have to be. At the top, is there a second hole at the left that is not present on the right? Also a drilled place below the pegs where something fit into it?

A locking drawer. That might be good for ammunition, or could just be so the drawer doesn't slide open & spill its contents when the whateveritis is taken up & down.

My thoughts turned to something for the needle arts or weaving, but after that, no idea at all.

How big is it? Following my train of thought, wondering if eye screw is for adjusting tension on something rather than for mounting the piece. I see it as a frame rather than a rack.

There is a hole opposing the hook on the left, as if something also went there vertically.

The entire piece is just under 2 feet wide and 30IN tall.

I'm won over. Designed to both display & secure something, so long guns would seem to be it.

Someone mentioned pool cues. Pool clues separate into two pieces for easy carrying and if stored in two pieces would fit the OP's piece handily. The drawer would hold chalk or even car keys if this were used in a bar or pool hall. It looks more like one from somebody's basement though.

Why would they fall out? I posted a picture above?
The spacing is much closer though.

Think cues are not stored horizontally because they warp. Wil's rack looks so much like the one komo posted in essential ways, particularly the security system, still think it has to be guns of some type.
