    Difficult one. It's not great quality. Could be Japanese. Noritake used this thick gilding but their pieces are a little finer. An alternative is German. Date probably early 20th century.

    Thanks for responding. I appreciate it! This cup is quite a mystery to my family. It was my grandmother's. She was born in Germany in 1908. May I ask why you think its origin is German? It's unmarked so we have few clues. Thanks again!

    It’s a style seen on Edwardian porcelains from Germany and Austria.

    If I might suggest pictures against a plain background next time, even if you have to drape a white sheet over your washing machine? You get better results in image searches that way.
