Thought I would show this one.
I know exactly who he was, which is nice.

    Hope you like it. IMG20210221114012_compress10.jpg IMG20210221114100_compress44.jpg IMG20210221114043_compress33.jpg

Very nice to see its original box too! Would you know wat type of pearls it has? I only know that natural pearls can be misshaped and of different sizes.

I wouldn't know I'm afraid. I believe these were made in 15ct gold.

    It is beautiful, Will.
Seed pearls, if they are small enough. The name refers to the size only.
Many seed pearls in 19th century jewellery are natural freshwater pearls.

I'm not sure if its still done today, but I've also heard of small grains of grit being placed into an Oyster to encourage it grow a pearl?

Yes, that is one of the ways cultured pearls are made.
19th century seed pearls were natural though, formed around dirt that got caught in the shell.

Thank you. I completely didn't get it that it meant the design in turquoise and pearls.

I'm not sure. Unfortunately, as the generations pass, so does the knowledge. I will see if my mother knows any more specifics. I've only got the name.

I suspect it's one of the regiments which used the garter knot as an emblem, hence the question. Lovely locket.
