Rams head bracelet?

I may have posted this before but could not find a record of it, so apologies if this is a repeat.
This appears to be a bracelet, but it is very small and not at all flexible, and the space between the heads is too small to put this on like a cuff. The opening is about 2.25 inches across and 2 inches tall. I have a small hand and wrist and can't get it on, but could see where a very petite person maybe could. The metal heads appear to be brass, they are not gold.
So, do you think it is a bracelet? And what could the black material be. Feels pretty light, maybe some kind of wood or plastic? Age, origin? Any thoughts appreciated.

The closest I saw was this. The ram heads look the same as on my bracelet, but they describe it as easy to wear, so must be bigger than mine.

The Ram has played an important role in the religion and mythology of many different cultures. It first appears as symbol in Ancient Egypt, as god Amon was depicted with a ram's head. In Celtic symbolism, it represents fertility and rebirth. The ram's horns are the symbol of the zodiac sign of Aries and even the Greek name of this sign (krios=ram) indicates the correlation between the zodiac sign and the ram. It is possible that your example as been refitted with its current bangle part? Ebony, perhaps?

 

@ritzyvintage , do you have link for the bottom bangle? Even though the ram's heads are more detailed, it could be relevant to drg's querie regarding the black material.
