a pair of large, 25" tall, Satsuma vases. Do people think these are of good quality and/or old?

    Beautiful, and yes, good quality imo. They look Meiji era to me, but let's wait for the others.

    If that’s all hand painted (as it looks to be) they are high quality. Sadly black Satsuma doesn’t tend to be very popular but these are so good they could be an exception. Looks to be signature in the main decoration as well as base.

    The mark on the base reads Satsuma (below the Satsuma mon). Trying to read the signature in the main decoration

    This is the most valuable black ground piece I have found. Kizan's colourful pieces tend to fetch double this. Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 19.54.02.png
