Old Upholstered Chair

Wondering if anyone can identify this chair. Manufacturer, model, approx age etc. ?

Its a piece that's been in the family as long as I can remember so guessing it dates back to the 1920's?

There are no identifying marks anywhere on it according to my sister. I plan to investigate further next time I'm over there and can take more fotos if that will help?

Seems to be okay now. But I hate to say this, but the picture shows it in pretty bad condition. 20's may be about right.

 

It is bad, cat damage. Not worth repairing?

 

Charming shape. If of sentimental value, certainly worth preserving for another generation.

Yep, charming alright. A side chair from the 1920s nails it, although the round seat motif was in use for many decades before that. I've fixed family pieces that were in worse shape, but the $ is only worth it if you intend to keep it. You won't make it back in resale. On the other hand, the finished product could be handsome indeed.

You're unlikely to find out who made it as there were hundreds of furniture makers then, and most of them did not label their work.
