What is its height please? Also, is the base screw-fixed to the bust/figure? Its a nice piece. Don't attempt to clean it!

It is beautiful, sunday. It is most likely the same era, and could even be Viennese.

JMHO. sell it asap. be happy when someone doesn't want to inspect before buying, ask 5000 $ and discuss .
as usual Christie's is completely wrong with their prize, these were made in France at least till the 1960s; the prize is their name.
about the Florida one - if you want to buy "Shipping: Third party. (estimate $800-$1200)" then you have too much money.

here an offer in one of the big "antique" centers near Paris.

when the daily idiot that bought them for 5800 € or a bit reduction to make him happy for 5000 € "only" and is out of the door, there's already the next pair standing there as fresh and crisp as a beautiful spring morning in Paris.

    so, BUYBUYBUY and visit Paris...

Just wanted to revisit this to thank Fid and Brad for very astute comments and research. Fid is right on about the price discrepancies. They dont seem to be all that rare and a recent one sold for a lot less than the 5800 or whatever at Christies, i think it was $500 but cant recall.

How did you know they were still making those in the 1960s? I couldnt figure it out just from google.
