    Hello,

Just picked up this little cutesie. I have never bought any needlework before and am keen to learn more about how to tell the age etc. Can you figure out the age usually by style (of dress etc)? How can you tell if it is from eg the 1950s compared to a very modern one using the same style of subject matter from this decade? Please excuse the electrical tape at the back, I will remove that at some point! Thanks all :)

Likely 1960s when both Hummel figures and needlepoint were popular. You might be able to find an unfinished kit when an internet browse which would provide dating.

Perhaps not Hummel, as these are marked. CAD68856-18C0-4104-84EE-CC95372F4EBA.jpeg

    Certainly Hummel-inspired then.

No. Late 1950s or early 1960s.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The frame color also reminds me of that era.

Besides removing the duct tape, you will also want to put a different backing on it. The cloth might be discolored by touching of wood for a long period of time.
