Hampshire Pottery Vase

Does anyone know what is the "m" mark and the "67". I assume the last is the mold or model number?

From Lehner's - The M inside an O designates Emoretta, wife of Cadman Robertson who entered the business in 1904.

I almost passed it. It was hanging in the Goodwill bins before being put on the shelves. As there was nothing else to buy I had a second look and grabbed it.

 

Is the mark on this raised? Looks like it in the pic. Any piece of Hampshire I have ever seen has had an incised mark. Otherwise, this looks right to me. Here is one for comparison.

In the review is mentioned that the marks were either raised or incised.

 

Have seen where there is a combination of raised and incised but have never seen the name raised. Doesn't mean that they didn't do it but it is not usually seen that way. Can't see the bottom well enough in the one in the link so don't know if it has the shape number or how it is marked. As I said above, the pot looks correct to me otherwise.

I have even seen unmarked examples so there is quite a bit of variation in the marks. One thing Hampshire has that would probably be hard for many to fake would be the white bottom. The only Hampshire fakes I have seen did not have it.

I wasn't signed in before I left my message.......I checked your vase on Worthpoint. One with the sign just the same (raised) sold in Jan/13 for $1275.

I had never heard of Hampshire Pottery....will keep my eyes open for sure!

As much as I love Fulper and Weller I never had a piece of Hampshire. Only saw one piece at Rago's and it "felt" so right, but out of my SS budget.

Hi Don,
Great finds, it is sooooooooo dead around here. I only thing I was interested in was a RRPCo #1400 jardenier and pedastal but they have it marked as ROSEVILLE at 125. I offered them 55 but they still think since it has Roseville Ohio it is Thee Roseville.
