old framed pirate ship photograph from film ?

i think this photo is not as old as it looks, but quite like the look of it, how it is

im trying to work out age,what film this was from and the boats name

was thinking treasure island, but doesnt have pirate flag

its definetly a photograph, looking closely with a loop

the backing was an old masonic ? gentlemen photo card.

I don't know yet, but it's possible that the photo of the man has some value!

The picture of the ship is nice. Is it on paper, not mounted on a card?

 

I have tried to enhance the contast a bit.
It is not a pirate ship, it appears to be a British naval Brig of the mid 18th C, as it is flying a British ensign.

the masonic photo was by Stanley bros, leytonstone, Stratford

just noticed in your pic theres something or someone up on top of the mast !!

 

The masthead object is probably a pennant, a long flag the helmsman and sailing master use to guage the wind. It can't be a photograph of an actual ship, the ensign is blowing out aft while the wind, from the set of the sails which are trimmed for a broad reach indicate it is abeam or a little abaft the beam. (Coming in sideways)
It could be a photo of a print, or simply a print.
