    HAPPY NEW YEAR, ALL!!!

For flowers? Part of a larger object?

I don't think you can call this a cherub, since he/she has no wings, but...

Thanks for checking it out and TIA for any feedback

I'd just call it a center bowl

Center of what I don't know

They are called putti. Sometimes they have wings, but most often not.

Austrian, German or French, I think. Late 19th early 20th.

JMHO. I don't see the quality of the late 19th c., just look at the feet. perhaps a modern knock-off of Powolni's putti.

I agree with fid. Not enough detail. 1970s?

Right, thanks Bev and all - forgot about the term Putti. :p

This is nowhere near as stylish or high-concept as Polowny/Werkstatte...

It does have a high, crystalline ring to it, isn't super-duper kitschy, some care has gone into the original modelling i.e., the strap across chest and back is part of the mold, not just painted - but no attempts were made to correct random flaws to the mold.

Maybe not a centerpiece? the decoration doesn't go all the way 'round.

I thought I'd give it a shot and learn a little more about Victorian porcelain - I rescued it from Habitat for humanity (!) - but now I have to actually sell it to get my 10 bucks back! duh

Books are probably a better investment, right?! These rescues are starting to add up.

What about a flower ring, like a pansy ring? Also, I think it's early 20th c.

Find a place somewhat out of the elements and fill it full of seed. Boom....instant bird feeder

It looks like a floral bowl. It's really cute and would look good with fresh flowers and greens. Reminds me of Spring. When you say the decoration doesn't go all the way around - it's plain on the back? That's weird. If you sell it, be sure to remove the 10 dollars inked onto the bottom of it. Habitat is a good organization.
