Hello all! I'm new to this forum and was hoping someone might be able to she'd some light on this piece I found. There are no markings other than the ones visible in the pictures I've attached and to be quite honest, I have no idea what it is actually and as such, my internet searches have been futile at best not knowing what to even call this piece. Any info on who, what, where or when this piece was born would be great! Thank you all in advance for any help you can provide!

Welcome! Looks like slab-construction studio pottery - maybe 80's? Could be a bit earlier or more recent. Can we see the underside, please?

    EDIT - And it's a vase.

Thanks for the response! I attached a picture of the bottom. Any idea what it may have been used for? Was it just a decorative piece? It's hollow and weighs a TON. I would have to guess close to 10 pounds.

Seeing the bottom I'll downgrade to "student work."
