    Hi all!

I have received Japanese tableware from my grandparents. It came over from Japan in 1966 and has 2 signs on it, the meaning is: Matsukaze. Can anyone tell me more about the maker of this pottery? Where does it come from and from what century?

    Thanks in advance!

I have a pair of lustre ware sugar and creamer in the same shape and from Japan. They were my grandmother's, acquired before the war I believe. They were new at the time and I have every reason to think yours are also 20th century.

We need a closer picture of the mark.

Matsukaze is the title of a Noh play and means "Wind in the Pines." Maybe that is a name of the design?

Thank you for responding. On the bottom is a word written in Kanji. I also found out the meaning and indeed red it’s a play too.
