Featured Brooch, silver-ish and glass turquoise cabochon, marked

Another piece I'm not sure where it came from. I think either from my mom or my grandmother.

It is a brooch though the "pin" is broken off. One of the cabs is unglued and certainly appears to be glass. The mark is a diamond with cOc or oOo or something like that. There are some circular dots on the back . It is 1¼" long.

Anyone know what or when?

 

I believe that is Czech glass, but it's possible that the brooch itself was assembled elsewhere.

 

Hmm could they be as older than 1960? I keep thinking this came from a grandmother but am not sure. One died early 1950s the other in 1960 so it would have to be older than that if it belonged to either of them.

I've looked a bit for the mark but haven't found it yet. Probably just haven't looked in the right place.

 

Between the wars nice Bohemian (Czech) glass. As is that clasp in terms of date.

 

Ah perfect so would have come from one of my grandmothers then as I thought! Now I'll stick a label with it for my kids before I forget yet another thing. Neither side of the family had much money so I imagine it would have been on the low end of the spectrum.

It is charming, S_I_S. The glass cabs are called turquoise matrix glass.

Looks very fixable, just needs cleaning, some glue and a new pin stem

 

I like it! Interesting designs on the back, too.
