Hello, I wondering if anyone has come across this artist. Please see the photos of them and signature GRR Luik London 1864? At least that's what I think it says. The sketches also has a signature in the box below with a crest (appears on both). I would also like to know an estimated value please.

    Thanks in advanced for any help. IMG_20210204_003356.jpg IMG_20210204_003516.jpg IMG_20210204_003447.jpg IMG_20210204_003428.jpg 1100005353.jpeg

I edited the signature by trying to take the 'extreme' slant off of it and sharpening a bit....sometimes makes the signature easier to read.....might help you or others trying to help you decipher it....the LAST name does look like "London" or "Londan" to ME..... doesn't mean I'm right either!!

I wonder whether the "London" in this case is for the city and not a surname?

Also interesting that the fellow on the right has no signature or name?

The name on the crest might be the sitter? Collier?

Possible. Brothers, perhaps, since the crests and the names are the same?

@Paul Lloyd, IS there a faded signature on the right sketch as well???? (If they're brothers, they don't look alike AT ALL!!!!)

They look like engravings to me.

No, maybe not an engraving from the close-up. Maybe lithographs.

My immediate thought too. The actual paper doesn't appear to be the type one would sketch upon?

Do you own these, or is this auction photos? Just curious if you can provide more photos?

    G. B. Black. Lithographer and lithographic printer, 140 Strand, London, according to the internet.

The 'originals' were probably 19th century studio photos. More research about the identities of each sitter is perhaps the best way forward.

Looks like the coat of arms of the Earl of Kellie which fits with the word "Kellie" printed besides.
