Indonesian bamboo container

    Not like my finial though, that's defenitely a turtle (or tortoise).

    Turtle is fine, it is the generic term. Tortoise is on land, yours is a sea turtle.
    They love lizards and sea turtles.
    Here is a Sasak box with both, a favourite Lombok souvenir. The inhabitant is one of my antique Balinese lontar or palm leaf books, which is closed using the usual kepeng cash coins.
